Architectural Specifications For Jurassic Slat Series PVC-LV-100

General

The PVC slat shown on the architect's drawing shall be Jurassic slate, Series PVC-LV-100 as manufactured by Shoreline Industries, L.L.C. in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.  All slats shall be furnished in a stock length size of 12 feet, 10 feet or 6 feet.

PVC Slat

Each slat shall be 4 inches wide x ¾ inch thick, extruded PVC with interlocking grooves and internal stiffening ribs.  The minimum wall thickness of each slat shall be .060-inch, with a minimum stiffening rib thickness of .025-inch.  The approximate weight shall be 6.25 ounces per lineal foot (without internal steel reinforcement).  Each slat shall have an integral flexible vinyl weather-strip at both interlocking grooves.

The PVC material shall be provided with an ultraviolet inhibitor and be fire retardant, self-extinguishing.

End-Caps

Each slat shall be provided with an injection molded PVC end cap (left and right), which shall completely close each end of the slat.  The caps shall have tabs which when inserted into the end of the slat will prevent the cap from falling out.

Color

The color of the slats and end caps shall be white, extending throughout the PVC material.

Steel Stiffeners

Each slat that is longer than 36 inches but less than 48 inches in length shall be provided with a minimum of one internal steel reinforcing member, fitted between the stiffening ribs nearest the middle of the slat.  Said stiffener shall run the full length of the slat as to provide the maximum reinforcement.  (Provided by others)
